Brown Red is a gold-based birchen-pattern variety: a birchen-type E-locus background (E^R) allows gold and reddish color over a predominantly black body, with melanizing modifiers shaping the dark areas. Ameraucana beard and muffs (Mb), pea comb (P), and blue eggshell allele (O) are separately inherited breed traits; the complete genotype of this bird is unverified.
