LF

An extended-black E-locus allele and melanizing modifiers such as Ml are often used as a working explanation for the black plumage, but exact dosage is not established from color alone. Cochin feathered feet involve Pti-1 and Pti-2, while the ordinary single comb lacks dominant pea- and rose-comb alleles.
