Gray Birchen is a silver form of the birchen pattern, associated with a birchen-type E-locus (E^R) and the sex-linked Silver allele (S), producing pale silver hackles against a largely black body. The single comb is distinct from plumage-color genetics. Short legs in Japanese bantams are commonly associated with the creeper trait (Cp), but the exact genotype of this particular female has not been tested.
