January 2025 Auctions Report

Writer: Breanna PatzBreanna Patz

Some key notes as we release the first auction report for Pips 'n Chicks Auctions! This is pretty new, but hopefully will become regular. If there are more metrics you would like to see to follow the trends, please let us know in the comments below.

Congratulations to Five Points Feathers Farms for being the Februrary Seller of the Month, and to Jolene Page for being our buyer of the month.

Report Notes:

-This is a consumer report. It shows the final bid for each auction, regardless of if the seller's reserve was hit or not. This shows what the consumer is willing to pay for these lots, not necessarily what the sellers expect to get for the auction.

-Any lot that finished without bids (or without a minimum bid) was not included here, as it does not reflect the actual price consumers are willing to pay for the lot.

-These are listed by lot, not by dozen or head of animal. There is some variability here that we are looking to fix and iron out in the coming months to hopefully give a more consistent report.

-Viewers are listed as the total number of people that viewed the auctions page on the website from January 1st - January 31st. This is a metric taken from the website and assumes that the all vistors have cookies enabled. It does not account for any social media viewers or individual page views.

General trends:

-The dozen Button quail eggs, included in the quail portion of the report, had a significantly higher final bid price than expected, even more so than the coturnix quail eggs being sold by the 20ct.

-Lots with lower minimum bids tended to see more bids and more buyers, as well as hit a higher final bid price.

-The most viewed lot was the Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.

Other Auction Notes:

We are making some pretty significant changes in the upcoming months to improve the auctions! Please be patient with us as the website may be updated regularly and run slightly slower than usual.
